Travis Sentell "Doc" Edwards, Sr.

–

Pineville, Louisiana

The Life and Legacy of Travis Sentell Edwards, Sr.
Travis Sentell Edwards, Sr. was born on October 30, 1984, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Sam Edwards, Jr. and Debra McQuarn Price. He was raised in Rapides Parish and educated in the Rapides Parish School System, attending Alexandria Senior High School.

Travis was a man who enjoyed life and had a personality that naturally drew people to him. Outgoing and personable, he never met a stranger. He had a smooth style all his own and enjoyed looking his best. Whether wearing a fresh pair of tennis shoes, his favorite shades, or simply putting together the right look, Travis liked to stay fly. His favorite color was navy blue.

One of Travis’ greatest interests was baseball, a sport he truly enjoyed. He was also very family-oriented and treasured the time he spent with those closest to him. His family was an important part of his life, and the relationships he shared with them created memories that will forever remain in their hearts.

Travis also had a genuine love for plumbing. What began as a skill became a profession that he took great pride in. He worked as a plumber in the construction industry and was employed by Gary Baden Plumbing. Travis enjoyed working with his hands and possessed the ability and knowledge to do the work he loved.

Above all, Travis will be remembered for being himself. He was outgoing, approachable, stylish, hardworking, and devoted to his family. His ability to connect with others and his “never met a stranger” personality made him someone whose presence was easily felt and will be greatly missed.

On Thursday, August 27, 2026, Travis’ earthly journey came to an end at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was 41 years old.

Travis was preceded in death by his father, Sam Edwards, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Margaret Price; his paternal grandparents, Sam Edwards, Sr. and Letha Mae Edwards; his aunts, Lisa Price and Iris Price; his uncle, Kenneth Price; and a very special uncle, Gene Ruth.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mother, Debra McQuarn Price; his two children, Tiajah Edwards and Travis Edwards, Jr.; and his two grandchildren, Kenzeli Johnson and Denim Edwards.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, in the following order: Charlotte McQuarn, Lakeisha McQuarn, Shannon Edwards, Latonya Edwards, Cavetrik Tilley, Samuel Harris, Anton Edwards, and Tiras Edwards; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, coworkers, and many friends who were blessed to know and love him.

Though Travis’ earthly life has ended, his personality, his love for family, his passion for plumbing and baseball, and the countless memories he created will remain with those who knew him. His life will continue to be remembered through his children, grandchildren, family, and all whose paths he crossed.
