The Life and Legacy of Shirlene Goodlow

Shirlene Goodlow was born on February 29, 1968, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Mary Price and the late Charlie Goodlow. She was reared in Rapides Parish and educated in the Rapides Parish School System, where she attended Carter C. Raymond.

Shirlene was a woman whose presence brought joy to those around her. She was fun-loving, full of laughter, and had a personality that made people genuinely enjoy being in her company. Her warm spirit and joyful nature created countless memories for her family and friends.

One of Shirlene’s greatest joys was caring for children. She loved babysitting and had a special place in her heart for the little ones entrusted to her care. Her nurturing spirit, laughter, and loving personality made her someone children and families could easily grow close to.

Shirlene was affiliated with St. Matthew Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She also had a special love for the color purple, a color that beautifully reflected her vibrant personality.

On Thursday, September 10, 2026, Shirlene departed this life at her home in Alexandria, Louisiana, at the age of 58.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Goodlow; her grandparents; and her beloved best friend, Belinda Johnson.

Shirlene leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Latasha Goodlow; her mother, Mary Price; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Debra Goodlow and Barbara Matthews (Isaac); three brothers, Joseph Nelson (Henisha), Darrell Price (Brittany), and Jule Price (Kenterria); her fiancé, Christopher Guillory; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Although Shirlene’s earthly journey has ended, the laughter, love, and joy she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
