Purvis Ricky Baltazar

Purvis Ricky Baltazar passed away on Saturday, April 29th 2023 at the age of 65 years old. Ricky was born on July 10, 1957 in Glenmora, Louisiana to Josephine Lee Baltazar and the late Melvin Lazar Baltazar. He was united in holy matrimony to Charlotte Cameron Baltazar in 1977 and to their union a son, Kendrick Cadrion Baltazar, was born. In later years, Ricky was also united in matrimony to Janet Sias Baltazar.

He accepted Christ at an early age. Initially, he was a member of the Grover Chapel A.M.E. Church and baptized by the late Rev. Anderson. Later in life, he visited the Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jackson. Ricky graduated from Glenmora High School in 1976 and furthered his education at Grambling State University (GSU). He graduated from GSU in 1980 where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management. His extensive career with Firestone, as a store manager, expanded more than 2 decades. Ricky's favorite sports teams were The Los Angeles Lakers, The Dallas Cowboys and The GSU Tigers.

Ricky leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Josephine Lee Baltazar of Glenmora, LA; his son, Kendrick Cadrion Baltazar of New Orleans, LA; his sisters Sherry Baltazar Pickles (Drextel) of Dallas, TX; Trudy Baltazar Brown (Anthony) of Baton Rouge, LA; Lesia Baltazar Dubriel (Richard) of Katy, TX; and Angelia Baltazar Thomas (Lee) of Katy, TX. He also leaves to mourn one uncle, Mr. Jerry Baltazar of Glenmora, LA & one aunt, Mrs. Sadie Lee also of Glenmora, LA & a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
