Percell Herman Britt, Sr. Obituary (1943 - 2022)

Percell Herman Britt, Sr. was born on February 27, 1943 in Franklin, Virginia to the late Leroy Britt and Lizzy Wiggins Britt. He departed this life on May 9, 2022 at his residence, surrounded by love ones. Percell graduated from Hayden High School in his hometown of Franklin. He enlisted in the United States Army in October 1962, and served honorably for 20 years. After retirement from the Army, he worked as a Civil Service employee at Fort Polk as an accounting supervisor in the Finance Department. He later retired after 22 years of dedicated service. Percell was full of life and loved his family dearly. He married Claudette Hampton on August 21, 1978, and they spent 44-1/2 years together, enjoying their children and grandchildren. Before his illness, Percell loved to fish and was a master at zigsaw puzzles! He had a kind heart and giving spirit, and was willing to offer assistance whenever he could. Perhaps Percell's greatest accomplishment of all time came in March of this year with a visit from Pastor Stanley Mathis, where he gave his life to Christ and became a member of Antioch. In addition to his parents and grandparents, Percell was preceded in death by two sisters, Doretha Parker and Carolyn Parker. Those left to cherish his memory includes his loving and devoted wife, Claudette Britt; two sons, Richard Britt (Tiffany, fiance') of Phoenix, AZ and Percell Britt, Jr. (LaKeytria, fiance') of Alexandria, LA; one daughter, Jennifer Britt of Alexandria, LA; ten grandchildren; one brother, James Parker of Tampa, FL; a godson, Dawson Fairrow; two grand godchildren, Dorian Clark and Legend Slaughter; along with a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and great nieces, nephews and great nephews, cousins and friends.
