Pansy Ruth Dempsey Obituary (1951 - 2022)

Pansy Ruth Dempsey was born on March 21, 1951 in Louisiana to Paul Green and Daisy Wilson Green. She departed this life on December 8, 2022 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Pansy, as she was affectionately known by many accepted Christ at an early age. She attended First Edgefield Missionary Baptist Church where she became a member for many years. Pansy also attended Rapides High School where she was one of the first blacks to graduate amongst her class. She also attended college, graduating with an Associate's Degree. Pansy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed making ceramics, traveling, bowling, reading about the Lord, and making good conversation. Pansy didn't mind helping others in any way that she could. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. Pansy was preceded in death by her parents, the late Paul Green and Daisy Wilson Green; Late husband Lonnie R. Dempsey, Sr.; one daughter Loren O.M. Dempsey; seven brothers Claude Green, John S. Green, Ronnie Green, Matthew Green, Lester Green; three sisters Pauline Sanders, Lillian Anderson, and Charlene Green. Pansy leaves precious memories to be cherished by her loving and devoted son and family, Lonnie Dempsey, Jr. (Phyllis) of Cheneyville, LA; her grandkids whom she loved dearly, Jah'Lani Dempsey and Lonnie P. Dempsey; six step grandkids, Reginald Jackson, Johnathan Fields, Michael Warren, Jamaque Warren(Jam), DeMarkus Warren, Mark Eldridge, Jr.; one brother Clarence Green of Cheneyville, LA; four sister Joyce Johnson of Cheneyville, LA, Shirley Fields of Marksville, LA, Patricia Halliburton of Houston, TX, and June Francis of Cheneyville, LA.
