The Life and Legacy of Pamela Lee Hampton
September 29, 1956 – September 26, 2026

Pamela Lee Hampton was born on September 29, 1956, in Pineville, Louisiana, to the late Eskline Hampton, Sr. and Ora D. Sanders Hampton Fairrow. She was blessed with 69 years of life before peacefully transitioning from this earthly life on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Pineville, Louisiana.

Pamela received her education in the local school system and was a proud graduate of Carter C. Raymond High School, Class of 1976. Throughout her working years, she was employed with the Shelter Workshop of Alexandria, where she worked in product assembly.

Pamela was a member of The Church of the Living God, located at 200 Shamrock Street in Pineville, Louisiana, under the leadership of Pastor Vasher. She was also affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star.

To know Pamela was to know a woman who was loving, caring, lively, and full of personality. She genuinely loved people and was always concerned about the well-being of others. Whenever someone was sick, Pamela made it her business to check on them and see about their needs.

One of the things her family will remember most was her love for birthdays. Pamela affectionately became known as the family’s “Birthday Songbird.” She made it a point to call family and friends on their birthdays and proudly sing “Happy Birthday”—loudly, joyfully, and sometimes delightfully off-key. It was simply Pamela’s way of making sure everyone knew they were remembered and loved.

Pamela loved to have a good time and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed bingo, game nights, fish plates, puzzles, word searches, and spending time at the Martin Luther King Center. She especially treasured her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their band performances, recitals, and other activities. Pamela was also a devoted New Orleans Saints fan.

She had her own unmistakable style and personality. Sapphire blue was her favorite color, and she loved carrying a new purse. Those who knew her well may also remember that Pamela was usually prepared with her pencils, ink pens, Hot Balls, and other personal necessities close at hand. Whether enjoying a party, attending a family gathering, singing a birthday song, or simply checking on someone she loved, Pamela brought her own special presence wherever she went.

Pamela leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Angeloise Hampton; two grandchildren, Mi’Anjel Jackson and Keldrick Martin, Jr.; six sisters and three brothers, Elizabeth Clark; Esklawrene Hampton, Jr. (DeLorise); Linda Elie; Claudette Britt; Ida Bynog; Clementine Josiah; and Elouise Fairrow-Parks (Terry); Audrance Hampton (Matlisa);George Hampton (Breanna) along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eskline Hampton, Sr. and Ora D. Hampton Fairrow, and her siblings, James Hampton, Delorse Mason, Mildred Timothy, and Angela Fairrow.

Pamela’s joyful spirit, caring heart, unmistakable laugh, birthday serenades, and love for her family will remain treasured memories in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
