Mr. Irvin Willis Ward & Mrs. Patsy Ruth Washington Ward Obituary (1946 - 2021)

God in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to call from our ranks his servant, Deaconess Patsy Ruth Washington-Ward; and we humbly bow to the submission of His will. The joyous eternity began February 13th, 2021, as she walked into paradise with Jesus Christ. Patsy Ruth Washington-Ward affectionately known as Pat was born October 11, 1952 to the union of Freddie and Lizzie Washington in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was education in Rapides Parish School System and Graduated from Peabody High School Class of 1970. She obtained her Association Degree of Register Nurse from Louisiana State University at Alexandria. She was in employed with Central State Hospital for over 20 years as a RN Supervisor from which she retired in 1999. She had a love for sewing, event planning, cruising, and football. She welcomed Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Alexandria. This "Woman of God" was caring and good for her family and all who knew her; if you met her you had to love her. She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served diligently as a choir member. In her later years, she joined Zion Hill Church Family where she served faithfully as a Deaconess until her death. She was united in matrimony to Irvin Ward. This union of 45 years was blessed with her children: Renwick Ward, Morning Ward, Leslie Ward, and Theresa Jolla. She leaves to cherish her memory: Children, Renwick Ward, Morning Ward, Leslie (Oreal)Ward, Theresa (Johmel)Jolla; Grandchildren Shaun' Tori (Deisha) Tolbert , Mariah Young, Johmel Jolla Jr, Laila Ward, Syan Jolla; Sisters Delores Allen( Eddie) ; Brothers: Roosevelt Washington, Bobby Washington, Freddie Washington Jr ( Glenda) Charles Washington (Linda); Sisters in Law Mary Washington and Bonnie Washington; Brother in Law Leslie Ward Jr. a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is proceeded in death by her parents Freddie and Lizzie Washington, brother Rev. Donald R. Washington; three grandchildren Julez Jolla, Jude Jolla, and Grayson Jolla Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Irvin Ward began his journey on this earth through the union of Leslie and Ruth Ward on June 16, 1946 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He attended North Carolina Public School and Graduated from Brooker T Washington class of 1964. He joined the United States Navy after graduating high school where served proudly as a chef during Vietnam War earning himself a bronze star. He was self- employed as a painter and worked for various trucking companies for over 20 years until his retirement. He was united in matrimony to Patsy Washington-Ward. To this union of 45 years, 4 children were born; Renwick Ward, Morning Ward, Leslie Ward, and Theresa Jolla. Brother Ward was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and later joined Zion Hill until his death. He was blessed with family and friends that loved him dearly. He leaves to cherish his memory: Children, Renwick Ward, Morning Ward, Leslie (Oreal) Ward, Theresa (Johmel) Jolla and Kilo Ward; Grandchildren: Shaun' Tori (Deisha) Tolbert , Mariah Young, Johmel Jolla Jr, Laila Ward, Syan Jolla and Zamora; Brother, Leslie Ward; Sisters in law, Delores Allen (Eddie), Mary Washington, and Bonnie Washington; Brothers in law: Roosevelt Washington, Bobby Washington, Freddie Washington Jr (Glenda), Charles Washington (Linda); Nephew, Wesley Ward and a host of loving family and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents Leslie and Ruth Ward and three grandchildren, Julez Jolla, Jude Jolla, and Grayson Jolla A service celebrating their lives and honoring the beautiful legacy they have left behind will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Zion Hill Church Family, 312 Hunter Street, Pineville, LA 71360 with Pastor Joshua Joy Dara officiating. Public viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the service will begin promptly 3:00 p.m. Temperature checks will be given at the door and mask are required for entry. Mr. & Mrs. Ward will be laid to rest on Monday, February 22, 2021 in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana.
