Lecompte, LA
Lonnell Clark was born July 26, 1953, in Pineville, Louisiana to Robert Clark, Sr and Mary S. Clark. Lonnell departed this life June 5, 2023 at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA.
He was baptized at an early age and remained a member of Union Baptist Church until his death. He served with the Men's Ministry as well as a deacon until his health began to fail. He was employed as grocery manager at Albertson's Grocery Store in Alexandria, LA for 33 years. After retirement from Albertson's, he proudly served his community 8 years as Town Alderman of Lecompte, LA.
"Lonnie", as he was affectionately known, was a pillar of his community. He loved spending his time outdoors tending to his garden. He was also known as the neighborhood grill master and never turned away anyone who was hungry. Lonnell had a larger than life personality and loved God. Though he was known to the community as "Mr. Clark", to his family he was honey, daddy, pawpaw, big pawpaw -- our Superman.
Lonnell leaves to love, honor, and remember him; a loving wife of 50 years, Althea Clark of Lecompte, LA; a beloved daughter, Alisha Clark Thompson (Van) of Baton Rouge, LA; two devoted sons, Terrick Clark, Sr., and Brandon Clark (Tiffany) of Lecompte, LA; 9 grandchildren, Delissia Clark Moody (Brandon, Sr.), Brittany Clark Young (Joshua), Kaysha Armstead, Xacaria Clark, Terrick Clark Jr., Kalissia Clark, Kevon Woodruff, Kaysha Hurd, and Braciera Clark; 2 great-grandchildren, Brandon Moody Jr., and Sarai Young; and one Godchild, Erika Perry. He also leaves to cherish his memories, 2 sisters, Dorothy Jett and Patricia George (Walter), 4 brothers, Clifton Clark, Sr (Beverly), David Clark (Beverly), Donnell Clark, and Charles Clark, Sr (Gloria); and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr and Mary Clark, brothers, Carl, Robert Jr, George, Lingston, and Jasper Clark and sisters Annie Clark and Doretha Freeman.
Please keep the family in prayer.
