The Life and Legacy of
Jimmy Ray Robinson
December 28, 1953 - September 9, 2026
________________________________________
Jimmy Ray Robinson was born on December 28, 1953, in Rayville, Louisiana, to the union of the late Lee Robinson and Janie Gatherwright Robinson. He was blessed with 72 years of life before peacefully transitioning from this earthly life on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at his home in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Jimmy accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of Reverend E. H. Holland. As his faith journey continued, he later became a member of Second Evergreen Baptist Church of Alexandria under the leadership of Reverend Roy Lott. Jimmy remained a faithful member until his health began to decline. His commitment to his faith and church family remained an important part of his life.

Jimmy valued education and earned a Bachelor's Degree. Throughout his professional career, he worked in public education and served as a coach, positively impacting the lives of many through his work.

Jimmy also had a passion for the food service industry. For a period of time, he worked at Church's Chicken, where he gained valuable experience that would later inspire him to venture into business for himself. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to serve his community, Jimmy eventually opened his own restaurant, Rob's Chicken, which became a well-known establishment in the Lower Third area of Alexandria. Through Rob's Chicken, Jimmy became a familiar face to many throughout the community, serving good food while building lasting relationships with his customers and neighbors.

Jimmy was a loving husband, brother, uncle, relative, and friend. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy filled with love, laughter, kindness, and the relationships he built throughout his lifetime.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Janie Robinson; his sisters, Ruby Randle and Annie Green; his son, Jarvis Cardell Robinson; and his nephew, Andre Lamonte Stevenson.

Those left to lovingly cherish his memory include his devoted wife, Linda H. Robinson; his brothers, Willie Robinson (Lisa), Charles Robinson (Shirley), and Rogers Robinson (Lois); his sister, Norma Faye Hill; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and dear friends.

Jimmy's life will be remembered for the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the many treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
