The Life and Legacy of
Gloria Jean Marshall White
March 18, 1959 – September 21, 2026

Gloria Jean Marshall White was born on March 18, 1959, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was blessed with 67 years of life before peacefully transitioning from this earthly life on Monday, September 21, 2026, at her home in Alexandria.

Gloria was educated in Rapides Parish and was a proud member of the Peabody High School Class of 1977. Throughout her life, she possessed a strong work ethic and spent many years working in restaurant management. Her career included management positions with several well-known restaurants, including Shoney’s, Pizza Hut, IHOP, and Cracker Barrel. Gloria was a dedicated worker who gave much of herself to her profession, and those who had the opportunity to work alongside her grew to know and love her. Many affectionately referred to her simply as “Mama.”

Gloria was a woman who generally kept to herself and enjoyed living life on her own terms. Although reserved by nature, she possessed a caring spirit and was deeply devoted to those she loved. Above all, Gloria loved her children and family. They were an important part of her life and held a special place in her heart.

In her leisure time, Gloria enjoyed visiting the casino and spending time doing the things that brought her happiness. Her favorite color was blue, a fitting reflection of the calm and quiet nature she often displayed.

Gloria was affiliated with Christian Love Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana. Her life was one of hard work, family, and the relationships she developed throughout the years. Her presence will be remembered by those who knew her, particularly the many people who lovingly came to know her as “Mama.”

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Rose Marshall and Danny Joe Marshall.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her sons, Jason White, Jermaine White, and Albert Green (Christy Dotson Green); a nephew whom she raised and loved as a son, John Marshall; her grandchildren, Jason White, Jr., Alasia White, and Jaelin Scarborough as well as six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren by her son Albert that she loved dearly; her niece, Ashanti Jones; a special cousin who was like a sister to her, Evelyn Garrison; along with a host of additional relatives, friends, former coworkers, and all who were blessed to know and love her.
