Eddie Ray Johnson was born on November 24, 1965, in Pineville, Louisiana, to the late Lorena Davis Johnson and his late father. He peacefully departed this life on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the age of 60.

Eddie was raised in the Lecompte area and attended Rapides High School, where he graduated in the early 1980s. During his high school years, he was known for his athletic ability and distinguished himself as a talented track star.

Throughout his life, Eddie was a hardworking man and was employed as a landscaper. He especially enjoyed spending time in Chicamaw, where he could often be found working with and caring for horses. His love for animals extended beyond horses, as he also had a special affection for dogs.

Eddie was a very family-oriented man who genuinely loved being surrounded by those closest to him. He was outspoken and never hesitated to say exactly what was on his mind. Those who knew him also knew his playful side—he was a jokester who enjoyed making others laugh and bringing lighthearted moments to family gatherings and everyday life.

Eddie was a member of Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Terry Kirk, where he maintained a connection to his faith and church family.

Born into a family of eleven children, Eddie was the last surviving sibling. He was preceded in death by his parents and all ten of his brothers and sisters.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory a host of loving nieces and nephews, other relatives, extended family members, church family, and many dear friends.

Though his earthly journey has come to an end, Eddie will be remembered for his love of family, his outspoken personality, his sense of humor, his athleticism, and his special love for horses and dogs. The memories he created and the laughter he shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
