In the words of Dianne P. Ford, “The Kid” to those who knew her best, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). Born on November 17, 1946, in Pineville, LA, I was blessed with a life filled with love, compassion, and faith. I was a humble servant of the Lord, who found joy in empathy and kindness, and I strived to reflect these qualities in my every interaction. I was proud to be a steadfast disciple of Jesus Christ, and my faith was the cornerstone of my life.
I was blessed with a family that brought me immense joy. I am survived by my loving children: Shannon Ford Adams, George Ford, Jr and Pamela G. Ford. One daughter in Law, Debra S. Ford and one daughter in Love Cassaundra Conston. A host of grandchildren, great-grand children, and great-great grandchildren. Each of them brought their own unique light to my life, and I am ever so proud of the people they have become.
In my professional life, I served as a Residential Training Specialist VI, contributing to the developmental and support services for those most vulnerable. I found immense satisfaction in my work, always driven by a deep-seated compassion. But my service extended beyond my profession. I was a vibrant member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8852, Sisters on a Mission, Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, and the Foster Grandparents of Rapides Parish School. I was also deeply committed to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where I served in the choir, participated in the Women’s Ministry, and served as the Secretary of Sunday School. My hobbies included singing in the choir, cooking for my family, hosting holidays at our house in Alexandria, Louisiana, and weekly meetings with my card club aka “The Silver Foxes”.
I was preceded in death by my beloved husband, George Ford, Sr our son Tyrone Ford, my father Ambrose Peace Jr, my mother Willie Lee Cann Peace, and my siblings Jerry Peace, Peggy Tademy and Gregory Cann. Despite these losses, I remained resilient and courageous, always leaning on my faith and the love of those around me.
As I pen these words from heaven, I hope you remember me as a loving, compassionate, and empathetic woman who strived to love God and love people with all my heart. Remember, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). Please join me in celebrating a life well-lived by sharing your memories and uploading photos to my memorial page. Let us remember the good times, the love shared, and the blessings that flowed from above.
