Collie Watkins, III Obituary (1984

Collie Watkins III (aka BooMan) was born on January 2, 1984, in Pineville, LA to the parents of Collie Watkins Jr., and Loretta Watkins of Alexandria, LA. On August 14, 2021, while in Ochsner's Hospital in New Orleans, Collie transitioned to his eternal home. Collie confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized by his grandmother Mateal Allen at an early age. He stayed faithful to God as he grew older. Collie grew up in Temple of Love and Faith Church under the tutelage of his Beloved Grandmother Mateal Allen and was a member there until his grandmother's health failed. He then became a member of God's Vision Ministry under the Leadership of Apostle Emile and Prophetess Loretta Hurts. Collie was a very intelligent individual and very outspoken. He could make anyone laugh with his whimsical sense of humor. He was warm hearted and extremely generous with his time, resources, and unconditional love. He sheltered many and gave much even his last to many. Collie had a definitive love for cars that he inherited from his Uncle Bean and was a collector of unique and custom sneakers and shoes which was a passion he reveled in. Collie was a Tioga High Alumni class of 2002 where he was a member of the basketball team. Collie also attended Northwestern State University. Collie was employed as civilian contractor stationed in Kabul Afghanistan, his position was Human Resource Supervisor. He also worked with Coco Cola in both Alexandria, LA and Fort Walton Beach, FL and Metrics System Corp in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Collie is proceeded in death by his Maternal Grandparents Herman and Mateal Allen and Paternal Grandparents Mary Helen Rogers and Collie Watkins Sr. He leaves to cherish is memory his daughter Bre'Asha Eggins of Alexandria, LA. His Mother Prophetess Loretta Hurts, stepfather Apostle Emile Hurts, his step siblings Emile Hurts II and Isreal Hurts. His Uncles, Herman Allen Jr., and Garyon Watkins, Aunts, Pearl Allen, Janice Watkins, Pam Rogers, Nickie Allen, Victoria Allen and Crystal Allen. He also leaves his cherished and beloved cousins who were more of his siblings than cousins, Tiny, Shameka, Keisha, Troy, Da'Mon, Antwain and Kristy. He also leaves devoted friends Kapulani Lee and Cedric Sherman. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Second Union Baptist Church, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Public viewing and visitation will begin at 10 am with service beginning at 11 am. Immediately following the service he will be taken to Garden of Memories Cemetery, for final committal rights.
