Calaiyah Kennedy Barfield Obituary (2011 - 2025)

Calaiyah Kennedy Barfield was born on October 14, 2011 to Courtney Renee Barfield at Rapides Women and Children's Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. She gained her wings May 21, 2025 at the age of 13 years old. Calaiyah was a joyful person to be around. She very outspoken, and full of life. She loved her family, her friends, and most importantly she loved the Lord. Calaiyah attended Horseshoe, Nachman, and Acadian Elementary, and moved up to middle school, where she attended Brame Middle School. She achieved an A Honor Roll Award and a Terrific Helper Award. She loved helping her classmates and her teacher. Calaiyah loved to sing and dance. She was compassionate and was an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. Calaiyah fought many health battles throughout her entire life, and she remained strong, and always kept a smile on her face. Calaiyah leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother, Courtney Barfield; Step father, McArthur Robertson, Jr.; sister, Kamyra Robertson; and Godsister, Laura Barfield; grandmother, Sylvia J. Davis; aunts, Tarmeka Jenkins, Latonya McIntosh (Darius McIntosh), Latiffany Jenkins, Shawasa Taylor-Finerson, and Lauren Barfied (God-mother); three uncles, Jason Barfield, Eric Barfield (Nicole Bush) and Cory Barfield; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. She is proceeded in death by her grandfather, Kerry Cheney, Sr.; great-grandparents, Ike and Laura Jenkins; great-aunt, Kathy Hall; great-uncle, Williard (Billy) Jones and godfather, Everett Taylor.
