Loving Memory of Billie Grace Hynson
Billie Grace Hynson was born on December 9, 1942, in Lamourie, Louisiana, to the late Robert Veal, Sr. and Lucille P. Veal. She peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana, at the age of 83.
Billie was a proud graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1961. Throughout her working years, she was employed in the retail industry as a grocery store clerk. After many years of dedicated service, she retired and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life that brought her happiness and contentment.
A woman of faith, Billie was a longtime and faithful member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she shared her gifts through service in the choir and Mission Department. She was known for her loyalty, generosity, and willingness to give of herself to others. Her commitment to her church and those around her reflected the caring spirit she carried throughout her life.
Billie was a simple woman who found joy in the beauty of everyday living. She loved keeping a clean and organized home and believed everything had its proper place. She especially enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her yard and gardening. Blessed with a true green thumb, Billie took pride in nurturing her plants and watching them flourish.
Those who knew Billie knew exactly where she stood. She was a woman who said what she meant and meant what she said. Her straightforward nature was balanced by a loyal and giving heart, making her someone her family and friends could always depend upon.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents Robert Veal, Sr. and Lucille P. Veal; her husband, James Hynson; her son, Joseph Sweezer; her sisters, Rachel Allen and Yvonne Veal; and other loved ones who transitioned before her.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her children: daughters, Angelia Wilson (Woodrow) of Shreveport, Louisiana; Erica Hynson and son Thomas Veal (Sharon) both of Alexandria, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Shaterica Grace Roberson (Wesley) of Manor, Texas, Cheyenne Yvette Wilson of Shreveport, Louisiana, Joseph Hynson of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Sherridan Marielle Wilson of Shreveport, Louisiana; three great-grandchildren; Ruthie Mae Winston of Sacramento, California, Juanita Ann Guyton of San Mateo, California, and Robert Veal, Jr. (Quizetta) of Houston, Texas.
She also leaves to treasure her memory a special first cousin, Shirley Ray Perry; her devoted sitter and caregiver, Hazel Morgan; special friends, Zettie Prescott, Ollie Mae Rushing, Cora Lee Hall, and Beverly Brown; along with a host of other relatives, church family, neighbors, and friends.
Billie Grace Hynson lived her life with simplicity, honesty, faithfulness, and love. From the home she carefully kept to the garden she faithfully tended and the people she generously loved, she leaves behind a legacy of devotion and strength. Just as she nurtured the things she planted, Billie poured care into the lives of those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Her earthly work is complete, but the seeds of love, faith, and kindness she planted will continue to grow for generations to come.
