**In Loving Memory of
Adeline King Chatman**
June 14, 1963 – June 19, 2026

“A life lived boldly leaves a legacy that can never be forgotten.”

With heavy hearts, yet grateful for a life well lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Adeline King Chatman, who peacefully departed this life on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the age of 63.

Born on June 14, 1963, in Pineville, Louisiana, Adeline was the beloved daughter of the late Love Johnson and Rosa Lee Dorsey King. She was raised with values of strength, perseverance, and independence that would define the woman she became.

Adeline attended Bolton High School in Alexandria, Louisiana, where she completed her education. She later dedicated many years of faithful service to the healthcare profession, working as a Dietary Aide at Southern Regional Medical Center. During her tenure, she also served in the Housekeeping Department, where her dependable work ethic and unwavering commitment earned the respect of coworkers and those she served.

Adeline was united in marriage to the love of her life, Hollis Anthony Chatman, who preceded her in death. Their union was built on love, commitment, and family.

To know Adeline was to know someone who truly marched to the beat of her own drum. She was strong, resilient, witty, and unapologetically herself. She possessed a personality that could never be duplicated. She was known for speaking her mind without hesitation, telling it exactly like it was, whether you wanted to hear it or not. Her blunt honesty was one of the many qualities that made her unforgettable.

Affectionately known throughout her life as a Black Beauty, Adeline embraced her uniqueness with confidence and grace. She was eccentric in the best sense of the word, living life on her own terms while inspiring others to do the same. Her favorite color was purple, a reflection of the bold and vibrant spirit she carried every day.

In her leisure time, Adeline found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved coloring, painting, working crossword puzzles, and sightseeing, always appreciating the beauty found in everyday moments. Her laughter, quick wit, and unmistakable personality could brighten any room, leaving lasting memories with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Although she has departed this earthly life, the love she poured into her family remains her greatest legacy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hollis Anthony Chatman, and her parents, Love Johnson and Rosa Lee Dorsey King.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories six devoted children—two sons, Jermaine King, and Miller King; and four daughters, Terrica King, Starlena King, Trisena King, and C'Nae King; eighteen beloved grandchildren; two treasured great-grandchildren; six loving siblings—three sisters and three brothers; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by her remarkable presence.

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that her strength, courage, humor, and unmistakable spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Her legacy reminds us that there is beauty in authenticity, strength in resilience, and power in simply being yourself.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever our Black Beauty.
